Shamiel Gary named Freshman All American

After a stellar freshman campaign in the Cowboy Secondary Shamiel Gary was named to the First Team Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). The Tulsa native had 98 tackles which was fifth on the team. He also had three interceptions which all came in the opening game against Weber State. Gary is the first Wyoming player to be named a First Team All-American.

Only one other Mountain West played made the team and only six players from Non-AQ conferences.

Full release from Wyoming.
