Robert Benjamin to Transfer

After spending one season in Laramie JUCO transfer Robert Benjamin will transfer once again. His destination is not known yet. Benjamin started the season as the #1 QB for the Cowboys but had only moderate success in those games. Austyn Carta-Samuels took over the starting spot after the Colorado loss and looks to have a strangle hold on the position for the next three years.

Later in the season we saw Benjamin transition to wide receiver. Benjamin appeared in eight games this season compiling totals of: 269 yards passing, 118 rushing and 17 receiving. He also had one touchdown pass which strangely enough went to Carta-Samuels in a trick play against Utah.

Good luck to Benjamin where ever he lands. He is down to one year of eligibility and needs to make the most of that time.

Quick look at the 2010 QB Depth Chart

Austyn Carta-Samuels - Sophomore
Dax Crum - Senior
Matt Cobb - Redshirt Freshman

*Wyoming has one recruit at 2010 QB recruit: Sam Stratton

This news first appeared in the Casper Tribune. It also mentions that the Cowboys could hire their new WR coach as early as this week.
