Arthur Boudeo hasn't played an official game of basketball in over 500 days. That is a long wait for the 6-4 165 lb combo guard who was born in Aix en Provence, France.
He played on a Junior team that won two French National Championships in 03 and 04. Came to the US and played at Stoneridge Prep: the same school that produced Cowboy teammates Amath M'Baye, Boubacar Syalla and Djibril Thiam. At Stoneridge Bouedo averaged 17 points plus 5 rebounds and 5 assists his senior year.
Last year Bouedo redshirted due to an ankle injury and barely saw the practice floor. This year he had to sit out the first 14 games to satisfy NCAA amateurism guidelines. There were no charges against Bouedo but there were some questions about some of his teammates from the those Junior teams back in France.
So what can he do? Well he could be best pure shooter on the team and a legit threat from the perimeter. This could be a big boost as only Ryan Dermody has found any success from long range this season. The Pokes are shooting just 22% as a team this year from behind the arc.
Coach Schroyer expects Bouedo to play double digit minutes right away against CSU. He'll come off the bench and mix in at the 1 and 2 along with Desmar Jackson, Jaydee Luster and A.J. Davis.
For the first time all season the Cowboys are finally able to use their entire roster. Hopefully that brings success and a 1-0 start to conference play.
