Manzano leaves UW Hoops

Another one bites the dust. For a team that was already thin on the bench things just got worse. Transfer G Thomas Manzano left the program on Thursday citing personal reasons. Expected to make a big impact for the Cowboys this season Manzano spent of his time coming off the bench and had some nice contributions in a couple games.

A.J. Davis has taken over the starting SG spot for the Cowboys and that left Manzano on the bench for long stretches of time. There were no previous signs of discontent from Manzano and he is in good academic standing.

For the season Manzano appeared in all eight UW games averaging 7 points 1.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 17 minutes. His two finest performances were against Peru State -19 points, 4 assists and Pepperdine with 15 points. For the season he was 2 for 21 from 3pt range.

There have now been seven players that have left the Wyoming basketball program since Coach Heath Schroyer has taken over. Due to injuries and two players sitting out the Pokes are down to just nine scholarship players available to suit up.

The Cowboys head to the Casper Shootout tommorow where they face 7-1 Northern Colorado.
