Cowboys earn OT win over Pepperdine

The Cowboys finally got a victory in their own tournament as they knocked Pepperdine in OT 86-82. Pepperdine was the winner of the World Vision tournament by defeating Hampton and Monmouth (NJ) on Friday and Saturday.

AJ Davis led the Cowboys with 20 points and added 3 steals. Adam Waddell had 15 points and pulled down 8 boards. Jaydee Luster was finally ready to handle some minutes and had 9 points, 6 assists and 5 steals but also had 6 turnovers. As a team the Pokes struggled from long range making only 4 of 18 attempts.

The Cowboys led most of the game and were even up by 11 less than five minutes remaining. The Waves led by tournament MVP Keion Bell's 34 points came storming back and forced the extra period.

The Pokes have a few days off now and will be in action on Saturday when they host 2-5 Loyola Marymount at 7PM MST.

Cowboy Joe: Adam Waddell was aggressive and made it to the free throw line 12 times while making 9 shots. His eight rebounds and three blocks led the team.

Cowboy Low: Desmar Jackson put 2 points and coughed up 2 turnovers in just 11 minutes.

Cowboy Foe: Keion Bell was one fire all weekend long and helped the Waves take win the team title.
